These are photo's taken during the storm 13/14 Dec 01.It started out as a fairly weak single green band,which I spotted while observing the Geminids.I thought I would take a couple of shots before raiding the pub for "anti freeze"(it was about -5)but it decided to play to the camera and for about 1/2 hr from 21.30 it did just about everything.
This aurora seems to be the result of a coronal hole rather than a coronal mass ejection.
For camera buffs,same details as page 2 but only 40 secs exposure.
